Naked Vegas is a new behind the scenes body painting docu-series on the Syfy channel which follows 4 Body painters as they create big Bodypainting jobs in Las Vegas.

I Love Body Art spoke with the show’s executive producer and showrunner, Terence Michael and asked him to tell us a little more about the concept of the show and how it’s all coming together.

“We’ve been following the Business ‘Naked Vegas for the last 3 months and we focus on at least 2 of their bigger ‘builds’ (paint jobs) a week following them every day as they plan and paint these jobs.

“One week they may go and meet with Penn and Teller and paint cards on girls and that same week they may meet with a Casino owner who needs painted girls for the launch of a new slot or Vip Lounge, so the challenge is on for them to come up with some innovative designs to compliment the launch.”

So who are the artists in the show ?
“Nix (Nix Herrera) is the ‘Technical Scientist and focuses on prosthetic attachments and adding inventive designs adding to the models. Heather (Heather Aguilera) is the soul artist who is all about headdresses and colours. Wiser is the detailed graffiti guru who brings the street Attitude, and Red is the feisty shop owner who sources all the jobs as well as painting herself.”

“There’s a lots of fun discovery behind the scenes where they are forming and sketching and figuring out how things are going to work. How do we Add steam? How to we add smoke? How do we make blood squirt, make this light up…. At times the guys can be under a lot of pressure as they’re painting for live big events and they only get one chance to get it right for a demanding client and live audience.”

“Every episode features several paint jobs and doesn’t just feature the body painting, it shows what the business does, how they source the clients, client meetings, brainstorming on improving the paint jobs and ultimately seeing how resourceful and inventive they can get to surprise everyone for a grand reveal!”

“I really did not know a thing about Bodypainting until SyFy said they wanted to do a show on it. These guys are pretty amazing, The filming is still continuing and it gives the whole TV crew, and ultimately the audience, a backstage pass to the behind-the-scenes of glitzy Vegas celebrities and events”

Thank you to Terence for taking the time out to speak to us, we can’t wait to see the show.

nypost.com: Syfy to premiere series about Vegas body art

What goes on in Vegas stays in Vegas — until it’s aired on Syfy.
The Skin Team, an iconoclastic quintet skilled in the art of body painting, is the subject of a six-part Syfy docuseries, “Naked Vegas,” premiering Oct. 29.

The group is available for openings at casinos, conventions and clubs and their provocative designs — displayed on female and male models — are on display in the series, which follows the Skin Team, whose members include “Face Off” artist Nicholas Herrera.

The wedding couple has asked to walk down the aisle in zombie body paint and they’ve asked the wedding party to match the theme.
But first, the Skin Team has to convince the bridesmaids and groomsmen to undress.

The zombie wedding will be a hard act to follow, but “Naked Vegas” has also scheduled episodes where the Skin Team works with legendary magic act Penn & Teller and also paints a Playboy lingerie party — shouldn’t take much time. They also apply their painting to the dance crew called Jabbawockeez.
